Jornada 680/690 - History

Early before the Jornada 680 has HP produced programmable calculators and organisers. As the competitor Atari at the end of 1989 launched the the Atari Portfolio on the market, a DOS based computer (more informations: PCD), that You can easy put in Your pocket, HP likes to produce something similar. But until the HP 95 LX was launched, it needs much time...

Since the operating system WindowsCE, all systems has a touchscreen.

The HP Jornada 720 or 728 is the last PDA with a keyboard, produced by HP. The manufactorer of the operating system, Microsoft, finished the development on the Handheld PC-plattform of WindowsCE and probably now this type of PDA will die out.
